Hi folks, I recently upgraded the GPU in my system from a 3080ti to 5090. Ever since then, only certain videos will crash when nearing the end up the up-scaling process. The file has successfully been upscaled before.

I’m running version 5.4:

  • The configuration used is with Proteus and framerate increase to 60fps using Chronos Fast.
  • I tried with H264 and H265, both with NVIDIA.
  • Monitoring CPU temperatures never exceeds 65c
  • GPU temperature never exceeds 61c

This system has been rock stable in the past. I’ve run memory tests and hardware benchmark tools to rule out any hardware issues.

System specs:

  • AMD 9950X
  • 64gb RAM
  • Nvidia 5090
    – Driver version: 572.60
  • 1200w Corsair Platinum PSU

Is there anything specific about the 5090 and version 5.4 of VAI? Gaming with this gpu is totally fine and running hours of benchmarks doesn’t cause any crashing.

Perhaps it could be the latest Nvidia drivers. Curious if anyone else is running into something similar?

Version 5.4 of the app has not been optimized to use the new RTX 5090, it is possible that the AI processing is pulling more power when running that is causing a crash.

Upgraded to the latest 6.1 and it still crashes. Will send over the log file to support. Thanks!
