It would be game changing for Topaz Labs to script a native plugin version for software like Premiere Pro, After Effects or even Davinci Resolve.
Needed to export then re-import into NLEs are an extra step, let alone the natural compression it causes.
Combining denoise and slow-mo into a single software is great, but now industry big player RE:Vision has also come up with their NLE friendly AI upscale plugin: REZup. Along with their already popular RSMB and Twixtor, I hope Topaz Labs can stay ahead of the industry level game with plugins!
Even having slightly limited options for plugin, then more in the full desktop version would improve workflows greatly.
Well I am a newby here and just loaded Video Ai V4 for the first time.
Going through my first clips the immediate thing that occurs to you is that the software app is ‘too standalone’. It needs to be a Plug in to Premiere / Resolve etc as you say - so yes I’ll upvote and hope that it is put in the roadmap by the Development/Product Team.
I’m also using Neat Video which is a denoise plug in and this is really easy to use with Premiere.
For Topaz business to grow I would put a Premiere or Resolve Plug IN high on the priority list.
First things first i would love Topaz Video Ai to not change the color space or the contrast when running a model on the shots.
for bright shots with little shadows, it is not noticeable but still exists, but for any dark footage the shadows are brought up so much that adds an extra step in my color grading after AI ing the shots.
right now unfortunatelly I only use Topaz stabilization. because it does a much better job than anything else I know of.
sadly the colors drastic change make it a big no no for my professional workflow… I DON’T KNOW if it only happens to me … ive tried with all the models and even stabilization compresses the colorspace if importing raw / ungraded clips straight from the camera.
Just catching up on news and see that a Topaz Video Ai Beta Plug in for Adobe After Effects is available to try out. Will download it.
Also see that Adobe Premiere Pro Topaz Video Ai Plug In targetted for end of year
Yeah! Hopefully one for Davinci Resolve would come soon too. Since most of the inbuilt stabilization tools and 3rd party ones like Gyroflow does not work once Image Stabilization on the lens itself is turned on.
