Topaz Video AI: Rendered Video Written Hangs Explorer

1. The bug / behavior you have encountered
I have a 1hr18min video upscaled to 4K of interlaced VHS video rendered with DaVinci Resolve. The upscaled video from TVAI6.0 causes explorer to hang after having completed the 9hr job. The video plays but right-clicking on it to check properties, or other tasks such as copying or deleting, causes Explorer to hang such that it crashes the Explorer window. To get around this, I was able to successfully transcode the file with VideoProc to create a manageable file of similar quality. I was able to delete the rendered VAI encoded file but I have not emptied the trash yet in case I need to reference this file again.

The log you shared does not show a process being run, however it does show the file being brought into the app and there is a line referencing a corrupt header which could be the issue with it causing issues in Explorer.

When the process was running on your system, did it go to sleep or stall at anytime?

Hi Kyle. Thank you for the prompt reply. There was no stall or any disruptive behavior during the process.

I’m going to investigate the original file. Considering this is the first time this has happened, it may an isolated case. For now, let’s just consider this resolved. Again, thank you for the prompt response.
