The new UI is terrible, clunky and VERY hard to navigate. There are a ton of tabs just randomly placed making what you’re looking for very difficult, I may roll back to 6.0 where the UI and settings are very easy to see and use. WHY are there so many tabs?? Why is save to cloud NOT an option but a tab that takes up valuable real estate at the bottom and “quick save” is a tiny tab to the right that is very easily missed? Not everyone wants to upload their work to the cloud. Anything cloud based needs to be set as optional in the setting to either view or not view that tab. The new version is a mix of photoshop and Davinci Resolve and it was a very bad decision, SIMPLIFY the layout, make the option to save presets and recall them simple and in ONE drop down menu like it was before. Every time I upgrade I have to re-learn the entire UI panel like its the first time. WHY?
Some of the reasons I rolled back to 5.3.6 and am unlikely to upgrade. They are also pushing the cloud processing, I’m not paying an annual licence fee AND paying for per video processing in the cloud on top.
I concur. I rolled back to 5.5.0 today. Everything is one page “page” and it’s much easier to navigate. I think I’ll let this annual license run out and not upgrade further unless I see something that is so extraordinary that I need to have it. Doubtful.
After not using the software for a while (3-4 months), I cant for the life of me use this UI. I render a 10s preview, run side by side comparison and the play button starts live processing or something when I just want it to playback the preview.
It’s incredibly infuriating and there was absolutely no reason to change the UI.
Honestly I don’t even notice that there are tabs. Tabs just sort of appear across the top of the screen as I’m working, but I am not sure when or why they appear - and haven’t bothered to find out.
Look below the preview screen, there are more tabs… export files, source files and some other useless tabs. All on one panel like 5.5.0 is all that is needed. Simplicity.
The tabs at the top of the screen are no big deal, you can take them or leave them.
It’s the tabs at the bottom of the screen that are the problem for me. Where I used to have a full console of preview windows, sources and processing progress, I now have to click back and forth to get the same data.
We need to have the option to choose between tabbed and untabbed modes.
Exactly! The new GUI is not useful and has created issues where none existed previously. Completely unnecessary.
