Topaz Video AI Beta v4.0.0.0.b

Got it, working now! Thanks!

Ok, so this is a very very hot mess on my box.

Like others I had the same DLL issues on install, and running it finished the install. First run it errored and crashed. Runs after that no issues loading.

This is my slower pc, the RTX 3060 with 12gig vram.

So on to this new preview. I will be frank, it looks kinda cool, and that’s where any complement stops. This is so unintuitive that I still have no clue how to use it. When you kick off a process for 15s, there is nothing on export menu, you have no speeds displayed, no information anywhere other than “Processing” and a %, and there is no way to stop processing either. After it is complete I have absolutely no clue how to play the file, still. If I hit play, it just plays the original file in both A & B window and just keeps playing well past any 15s. If you try to close the whole application because there is no way to cancel processing, the app crashes, but ffmpeg stays running in the background, and does not stop. I can play the temp file created in my temp directory, but oddly that shows the playtime of the whole file, and not just a 15s chunk, but looks like it only has data for maybe 15s.

I have no clue what the In and Out buttons do, and there is no mouseover on it. The split view button does not work at all, cannot even click it, but split view in the view menu works fine (ish). I will say the preview is much MUCH more responsive though. The side-by-side do not move together when you try to scroll around the picture, as shown in my screenshot attached, they just don’t move together.

You will notice nothing in export but you can see it is processing a preview.

Overall, I can see where we are trying to go with this, and I think it is a decent way
but right now it kinda feels like trying to do a new interface, but just pasting new elements on the existing with no cleanup and the two do not mesh together at all.

We’ve got a pretty much identical system, so I was curious. Unfortunately can’t replicate the results. Maybe you had a bad run benching 3.5.2? Or another issue related to Windows 11?

I’ve just given the Windows beta a test and it’s inherited the exact same issue I currently have with release versions 3.5.2 and 3.5.3, namely that if you disable the option ‘Include Live Preview’ on the Output Settings, exports will immediately show as ‘Error’ in the output list

Hello,
Could you send us an email at help@topazlabs.com with the full log files from the app?

To gather logs, please select Help > Logging and make sure that there is a check mark next to File Logging. Next, recreate the issue and then return to the Help menu and select > Get Logs for Support and attach the “logsForSupport” file to your reply.

Confirmed app is crashing on exit all the time on Mac. But videos get generated OK.

Hi Tony,

Just to let you know I’ve answered your similar post here - TVAI v3.5.2 Win version - turning off 'Include Live Preview' will cause all encodes to error - #4 by dave.k

Cheers,
