RheaXL 1x automode, without user settings. Then import the Encode into TVAI and do the upscale with Proteus in auto mode (V3 keeps more details/noise than V4)

6.1.x is also broken, good to know that 6.0.x works. I’m so tired with this…

in regards to the proteus v3/v4 bit, try the ‘add noise’ slider for v4. it does a pretty good job of basically minimizing the denoise that’s happening with v4
Just updated and it appears that I get one (and only one) preview. The first spot I previewed worked and didn’t keep rendering past the selected 5 seconds the way the previous “upgrade” I tried did.
So the old preview problem is fixed but now we have a new preview problem?
Correction: Even the old preview problem is NOT fixed! (now it’s WORSE) -Loaded a second video while the first was processing, got the second video to render a preview, BUT when I try to play the preview on the second video it starts rendering MORE…I didn’t ask it to render more. I asked it to PLAY the preview.
I don’t see an option to disable “live preview” or whatever it’s called?
I thought this would be fixed by now.
While I was editing my post, TPVAI stopped processing the video.
What’s this, a quantum leap in performance? No…
The export page just says “user terminated”.
So this version renders preview footage I didn’t ask it to render but also stops rendering video I never asked it to stop rendering.
What is going on at Topaz these days?
This version is particularly annoying. I will be rolling back…again.
And, after restarting the process and having it run for what seemed like a long-enough time for the task, I get “error”.

Just remember, folks; fixed an issue, usually means; dormant, circumvented an issue due to poor authoring, ect. or resolved an issue aka investigating/beta testing but it could also create other issues, ect…
Corrected always means - 99.9898% of the time that the said issue(s) will never… ever… rise-up again!

Do you have a Pro license? If not then something is causing the app to think you do.
- Close the Video AI app.
- Open up the models folder from the path below and delete any .lic files
C:\ProgramData\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video AI\models\
- Open up Video AI and try activating it

Protheus v4 is completely different than v3, and completely unusable. I had to revert to v3 in my testings. This is a shame because there is still no good alternative to Dione for interlaced sources. Protheus v3 is pretty good, but can’t handle interlaced properly. v4 performs deinterlacing well, but Topaz completely trashed the main aspects of the model in this version. Faces are blurred no matter what, and sliders make little to no difference in manual mode. If Protheus v3 could properly handle deinterlacing, then it would be a feasible model for upscaling interlaced DVDs. As is, v4 is a mess and unusable to me.

using Davinci Resolve
V6.2 Topaz AI Davinci Resolve Plugins do not work with Davinci v20. Plugin folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins must be renamed or deleted for Davinci Resolve 20 to start.
After installing this update (6.2.0) this morning, it totally screwed my DaVinchi Resolve (19.1.4). After spending hours doing the troubleshooting “why won’t Davinchi launch”, uninstall/reinstall, updating drivers, etc. I even tried Resolve 20 b2, no luck. After I uninstalled Topaz, davinchi worked again.

Unfortunately, when scaling down and up you loose details, as you also can see with the “focus fix” function

I had the same issue but like you once I uninstalled TVAI the problem was gone.
I have not reinstalled as I only use DR Studio with Neat Video now which renders at a fraction of the speed of TVAI.

I don’t understand why you are rolling out new features when the program is still broken. At this point TVAI isn’t a working product, I am still stuck on version 5.3. I can’t get the output directory to work in 6.2. No matter what I do it seems to choose the source directory even though when I save, close and reopen the export folder is correct but then it still output to the source directory. This should be so simple to fix and it’s been a problem forever. I still get VFR, I tested chronos, no other filter on a 5 minute file, on two machines, nvidia and amd graphics cards and both gave me VFR output in h265 and prores. Please stop working on new stuff and fix the program.

Yes, I had to uninstall the plugins before I could get Davinci Resolve to hope also.

No, I tested a 5 minute video on two machines, one with a 9070 XT and other a 4070 TI and both gave me VFR. I only used Chronos no other filter and I tried h265 and ProRes, it didn’t matter.
