Topaz Video AI 6.0 new UI

I’m sure I’m not the first to say this, but the 6.0 UI absolutely sucks, I wasn’t a particular fan of the UI changes in 5.x, but it’s a model of clarity and user friendliness compared to 6.0. As far as I can see there’s no way in 6.0 to load a bunch of videos and apply the same upscale to all of them without going through each file individually, at least in 5.x I could select all of them and then apply the same AI model in a couple of clicks.

Do you guys actually think at all about how people use your product?

Once you have all of the videos loaded in you can still copy over settings to apply to all and apply a preset to all if desired.

Here is a quick screen recording of the options.

The team does review all posts on the forum and feedback shared via the support ticket system and all of this is taken into consideration when updating and improving the app.

I couldn’t agree more. Because of the terrible new UI and jerky video output in version 6 I’ve not renewed my subscription. I’ve actually rolled back to version 5.3.6.

Yeah, downgrading was my solution. Evolving a UI step by step is fine, making me learn a completely new UI with each major release is just bad product management.

I just wanted to mention that I don’t like the new UI. Topaz Team, why don’t you take a poll on who likes it and who wants the old back?

I would like to see a scroll bar in the Export Queue window. The only way to scroll up and down thru the queue list is with a mouse wheel. Also, when selecting several input sources - to apply an adjustment to all - we should be able to right click to “select all”

How are you even getting to that Sources section at the bottom? I just see one video no matter how many I import, all I can do is go to View->“Next Video” or “Previous Video”.

Oh never mind… the software is just glitching out and the buttons are invisible at the bottom… Realized it when I saw a tooltip with my mouse hovering over nothing.

V6 is absolute trash.

This UI is terrible, making sources and renders only visible by selecting mutually exclusive pop ups is just such a hassle. Why? Zero advantage to that. Such a hassle if you have a lot to do. What a mess.

I’ve been using your software for a while, but Topaz 6 has been frustrating. I really miss the ability to batch process low-res files into a new directory—it was a key part of my workflow, and now it’s gone. Was this feature removed, or is there a workaround I’m missing?

Also, the interface feels harder to use compared to previous versions. Some of the “upgrades” seem like downgrades, especially for professional users like me who need efficiency.

I hope you can address these issues—bringing back that batch process feature and improving usability would make a huge difference.

And, please don’t start with cloud export. Not gonna happen.

Just updated to 6 and regretted it. The new UI is horrible and makes it difficult. I don’t know which person thought it was a good idea to seperate the sources tab into a seperate screen but that stupid illogical idea alone is a firable offense. Good thing I only subscribed for a year of updates if this is the shoddy low quality so called “upgrades” I’ll be getting. Took a good product and made it extremely difficult to use. Absolutely pathetic update.

They probably hired a new intern UI staff with zero experience. That’s the only logical explanation.

But you still can’t quickly edit each one by one by switching videos using the arrow button. You can only apply one setting to all on a seperate screen. That is incredibly inefficient and extremely stupid UI design.

They also removed the % indicator, at least the latest version as I’m writing this did. There is a progress bar but no %. Guess they expect us to just wing it as opposed to taking ten minutes of work to add one in.

Topaz Video 6 UI is so complicated and bad we finally went back to 5. cant recall such mess in my 25 years working with computers.
