It is unbelievable this is a market 17 likes he topaz or where you are skillled engineers from India likely Bangalore there was a time where we had VHS. and one thing has not changed peoples are markets at least you should understand being the largest population in the world. please act
I really don’t like that TVAI no creates a temp-file for the current project somewhere that the programme then needs to copy to the output-folder (some earlier version did this too, and I was glad when this was changed). Please get rid of this temp-file nonsense.
TVAI has now screwed up two videofiles in a row when copying them to the output folder.
I’m now reverting back to version 4.2.0.
Also: what’s with switching the “confirm” and “cancel” buttons in the pop-ups around?
I agree, more affort into improving old or badly recorded video should be done - before all the fancy stuff that any old video editor can do as well or better. THAT is why I first bought TVAI and they seem to have forgotten that more work is needed on it.
For example, when areas of amateur video briefly go in and out of focus, even if slightly, that kind of ‘hunting’ caused by autofocus often gets messed up by TVAI slow motion interpolation, even at 2x slomo. It can make the briefly out of focus areas look worse than the original and even if for a couple of seconds it is very diustracting. I still get occasional large blotches in such footage on all slomo models, just like in the beginning.
This is the kind of thing I mean when I say Topaz, stick to getting the basics right - fix bugs and fix the kind of glitches that were present from the begining and still are.

Is there a suggestions / wants thread /group.
I’d like to see in the future where the # of processes has an area on the main screen.
often I choose to use the recommended # of processes (1) but would like to process a “preview” but can’t sense only 1 is allowed (queued). I like to stack waiting to render videos after I do a preview render. further explanation … I’d like to have a way of doing a render preview without one of my stacked waiting (queued) renders starting. defeating my purpose of using 1 process for previews renders only.
Man I’m not sure that was clear for understanding, even to me…

Seems obvious to me that if I’m developing enhancement SW I’m going to market as a plugin for video editing SW any feature that is already part of video editing SW should be excluded unless it’s essential to the enhancement function. How much cooperation would I expect to get from another company if I’m duplicating their features?
Now that I’ve reverted back to 4.2.0 I’ve noticed that the file-size 5.0.0 produces with the exact same settings is more than double …
Why doesn’t the program work???
I interpolate 4k video to 120 fps. After 2 hours, when more than 90% is processed, the program ends with an error. What is the reason?
The most common problem in video of all kinds is FLICKERING. I am asking the topaz developers to seriously consider adding a good and professional ANTI-FLICKER tool.

I’ve heard a few people say that in the past few years. I’ve enhanced over one thousand videos with various settings and versions of TVAI. Never seen flickering added that was not in the source. Because of that, I’m really curious what examples you can share with us of what you mean?
I think what is being asked for is a way to remove existing flickering caused by frequency conflict (camera framerate vs lighting, such as flourescents and some LEDs, or interlaced videos vs displays).
I guess my problem is I only use TVAI on professionally released videos.
Please let us a choose again a folder location for saving previews videos. Having them in the project folder is a waste of disk space and worse you have then to remove them manually. It can quickly overtake hundreds of GB.
I used to set the temp folder to a ramdisk so the previews were never saved on any physical disk and automatically deleted after a shutdown or reboot of the PC

If I never had to deal with a vid that someone made with a phone under fluorescent lights or an analog-to-digital conversion of a PAL tape, I don’t think I’d call it a "problem…"

Just used normal stabilization settings.
Stabilization is triggered in cases it shouldn´t do so…this could also happen at other places in a video.
Should be fixed.
Topaz is going in a good direction with v5 
That might be the case but professional released video’s are to my humble opinion the result of the fact that most people who once had a camera long time lost their VHS casettes or Sony mini DV’s with the hard encoding to mp4’s and then topaz, we I mean the people that did not throw away their own made video’s have the oppurtunity to revive their VHS stuff I must say proteus v4 Iris LQ and nyx 3 do work and can be used but the latter is slow if you set 2 x intermediair.
I am very very happy all previews are kept this makes it easy to compare the output and which settings are used this is for me very very helpfull
That’s the point some of us are making though, most of the development seems to have gone into further enhancing already high quiality video and adding tools that are most useful for that. That is NOT why many of us purchased TVAI and in many cases, never will be. They need to get back to basics, how it was originally advertised and what it then did best out of anything out there. Improving poor quality video, old ones at 720p, 576p/i, 480p/i, 360p/i and in my case even old videos from the early days of the web, 240p windows media!
Anyway, it’s why I won’t be further upgrading unless and until they do some work to benefit me on such videos, and offer the old interface too, as an option. There is no advantage for me in having anything beyond v 3.5.4, which I fear I will have to revert to from my 4.2.2 (and its anoying interface) instead of upgrading to v 5. I’ve tried to get on with 4.2.2, oh how I’ve tried but now I hate it and v 5 seems to be no better if not worse.

I could not agree more, but I try to be polite otherwise my posts are moderated that is blocked… i have renewed my license and bought new laptops with better nvidia cards, just to learn that there is even no difference for topaz between a 3080 rtx and a rtx 4090 so even the system requirements speed is a useless.
Please tell me the characteristics of a budget laptop that Topaz can run on? What I need is not the official system requirements, but the practice of personal use. Thank you
