Topaz video AI 3.5.1 - freezing, SSD drive at 100% usage

Good day,

After the latest update, the program has started to show performance issues. Specifically, when I run a preview before launching the main process, the entire operation freezes and cannot be completed. It’s important to note that neither the processor nor the graphics card is under load at this point. Conversely, the SSD becomes fully utilized, disrupting the overall performance of the operating system. For example, taking a screenshot now takes up to three minutes, which is comical.

By sending log files and screenshots, I am trying to document the issue in detail. The technical specifications of our system are: CPU AMD R9 7900, 32GB EXPO RAM DDR5, and GPU 7900 XTX.

Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that the program does not utilize the graphics card memory and all tasks are redirected to the RAM.

I apologize for any duplicate posts on this issue.

Thank you for your prompt assistance.

GJM

Hello and thanks for the log files.

We’ve seen a few reports like this one where users saw processing issues after updating to 3.5.1. It seems that some users will need to follow these steps to reset and reinstall version 3.5.4 of Video AI:

How to Clear Your Topaz Labs Registry Entries (Windows)

After this installation, future in-app updates should work as expected.
