Topaz Video 1.0.0 (New Studio Release)

I would like to know about the DGX Spark as well and if it will make a meaningful difference in performance of the Starlight model. Does Memory Bandwidth of the GPU matter for Starlight performance or is VRAM the only thing that matters?

DGX Spark has its own operating system, Ubuntu. Since Windows doesn’t work there, Topaz can’t be installed. I think Starlight didn’t work on the Unix version of Topaz. But ComfyUI comes pre-installed, meaning SeedVR2 works on it. That’s good news.

Edit:

Blackwell GPU
The GB10 Blackwell GPU provides 6144 CUDA Cores
to accelerate graphics and FP32 compute workloads,
5th generation Tensor cores that provide up to 1,000
AI TOPS¹ ¹Theoretical FP4 TOPS performance using
sparsity feature of FP4 performance, and 4th
generation RT cores that provide real time ray tracing
acceleration. The GPU also includes 5th generation
NVDEC and 9th generation NVENC engines for
accelerated encoding and decoding of MPEG-2, VC-
1, H.264 (AVCHD), H.265 (HEVC), VP8, VP9, and AV1
video formats, including support for 4:2:2 H.264 and
H.265 video.

P.S: The number of CUDA cores is very low, which means that even if the VRAM is high, the processing speed is low, so it is useless.

For example, the RTX 5090 has a Cuda Core count of 21,760 and an AI TOPS of 3,352.

I think important is, it is Vram, but a bit slower or faster one is not a big gap. Vram is massive faster than system “DDR” Ram

DDR5-6000 has a bandwith of max. 96 GB/s, RTX5090 Vram is 1792 GB/s, factor 18x faster

In the past, Nvidia App also recognized Topaz applications and performed automatic optimization, but after upgrading to Studio version, it stopped recognizing them. I hope Topaz developers will fix this.

VRAM only stores the information in memory for processing, meaning that if it’s insufficient for larger operations, it generates an OOM error. However, since all processing is done on the Cuda Core or TRT, VRAM doesn’t significantly impact performance. A high number of Cuda Cores or TRTs are essential for processing speed and quality, and these values are the primary difference between GPUs.

I noticed that last night after updating my Studio Driver. I was able to manually add Topaz Video, but it looks like the app considers it a game - the icon appears to be a game controller…

And I can’t delete it. I don’t think it’ll be a problem, but it probably won’t offer any benefit, either…
