Topaz stops responding in lightroom classic after the most recent Topaz update.
Let’s try to reset your Lightroom plugin to try and get it working for you. You can follow the directions below to reset your Lightroom plugin:
- Close Lightroom fully.
- Run the Topaz Photo AI installer again. Get a new one from the downloads page: Topaz Labs Downloads
- Open Lightroom and check the File > Plug-ins Extras again.
Let me know if those steps get it working again.

If it does not, open Topaz Photo AI, go to the menu bar on the top, and click the ‘Help > Open Log Folder’ menu option. Please send in all the files located in this folder.
Also, if you are receiving any error messages while using the Lightroom plugin, please attach screenshots of these error messages, as this will give us a better understanding of the problems you are having.
You can securely submit your files(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Make sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.
I am getting the file appears to be unsupported or damaged. I downloaded the latest version of Topaz AI and it did not resolve the issue.
What type of file are you working with when receiving this message? What camera model are you using?
Nikon D 850 and the Z 9; I bring then into LrC as a RAW file; work on then and I do the noise reduction in Topaz AI; when I export the photo back to LrC, that’s when it crashes.
