Topaz PhotoAI 2.1.2 Extremely Slow

Version 2.1.2 was working fine but for some reason this morning, 11/24/2023 it started running extremely slow. It’s basically unusable. Restarted and powered off/on my M1 Max Mac Studio with 32GB RAM. This version has been running fine as did previous version until this morning. Nothing else changed with my system. I uninstalled and reinstalled PhotoAI but have the same results. I do an Edit in PhotoAI from Lightroom like I have been doing for over a year, but now every step once PhotoAI opens is extremely slow.

same here. I’m facing the exact same issue!

Im having the same issue with 2.1.4 with my M1 Mac Studio with 32GB Ram. This is painful to use. I deleted it and reinstalled it with the same issue. In stand alone it also is very sluggish.

Same here on a M1 Mac mini. Tried to download older versions of PhotoAI and it’s still the same.

I think the issue started when I updated to macOS Sonoma 14.1.2. PhotoAI is now unusable . :unamused:

Agreeing. (I’m also on Mac Studio Pro). What’s frustrating me is that every time I open an image, it takes 2+ minutes to download files. That just doesn’t make sense!

2.2.1 and still no improvements or any responses. I found Reddit posts with similar issues with Topaz video software too. Plus, no response here from Topaz.

To process one picture in Demo Mode it has been working for more than 10 minutes and it still isn’t done.

I have the same issue, very, very slow. Looks sometimes like freezing, but then awakens. >> 10 minutes before image appears. Autopilot will not appear . In the end the image is processed.

Sounds like a Mac problem. It would help if users would say what computer they are using.

Not having any of these issues on my Win11 pc.

Not necessarily a Mac problem as I have no speed issues. I just processed a large DNG file in about ten seconds on an M1 Mac mini. I am however running Sonoma 14.3 beta, but don’t recall issues with 14.2 either.
Those experiencing these speed issues should send log files and test images to Support. A new version should be released today, so check first if there is an improvement.

I found the solution to this in another post on here. Open Finder, Click Go at the top and select Go To Folder from the menu. From there, go to ~/Library/Prefrences and delete any com.topazlabs.Topaz Photo AI.plist files. Restart your Mac and the issue should be resolved.

I don’t see any com.topazlabs.Topaz Photo AI.plist files in ~/Library/Preferences from my M1 Mac mini. Loading photos take ages.

UPDATED: Issue was fixed after upgraded macOS to Sonoma Version 14.2.1
