If you can’t install version 1.4.1 or if it crashes immediately when loading an image, the only solution I have a found is to fully uninstall version 1.3.3 or version 1.4.0. Full means eliminating everything Topaz Photo on your system :
- Running the uninstaller. If you have a copy of Revo Uninstaller, use it to uninstall, even if you didn’t monitor the installation with this program. It will be able to cleanup all Topaz Photo data in the registry. Otherwise delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Photo and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Photo
- Deleting any leftover in the Topaz Photo folder in Program Files : C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Photo
- All data related to Topaz Photo in your AppData folder : C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Photo
- All data related to Topaz Photo in the ProgramData folder : C:\ProgramData\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Photo
- All data (beside files currently in use) in your TEMP / TMP folders : C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Temp and C:\Windows\Temp
Only after this thorough cleanup could I install and run version 1.4.1 without any problem.
