You can simply run the installer of any previous version and the current version on your machine will be uninstalled.
Iād also like to add I prefer the previous interface. I mainly use the remove tool to clean up photos, and now have to add the tool, donāt like the floating UI for it because my laptop screen is small and it takes up more room. Then you have to click the okay on the disclaimer every time you use it, should have the option to not show again. Then I have to adjust the size of the brush down because the default is way too big and it doesnāt remember the size from when I last used it.
Really need to think of users who are using laptops or smaller monitors and donāt have room to position all the floating widgets.
No one is even commenting on how bad the RAW Denoise ALWAYS ON is? Creating soft checkerboard āsegmentā backgrounds makes it totally unusable!
Newest version brake down during sharpening. How can I go back the prvious version which worked fine?
If it is what I think it is, this was a widely reported issue sometime ago, but was resolved several releases back. Certainly in my case. Youāll need to send Support sample files, log files, screenshots and your system specs so they can take a look at it.
Had the same problem in 2.4.1, need to check the settings.
I just back tracked to 2.3.2, not because the checkerboard background doesnāt happen, only because I can turn off the noise removal entirely. Itās very sad, whether as a plug-in or straight into Photo AI, even with ver 2.3.2 any soft out of focus background turns into a soft checkerboard. Iām assuming an outline of all the different photo segments like on a map? I only use the sharpening with my subject most likely masked, then remove the noise in the background in other ways.
This version is unusable for me, far slower and the UI is hopeless, everything takes longer. I need to reinstall the previous version, I hope Topaz will make it available unless until this mess is fixed.
I think it would be less of a burden to use if you could save all your settings for each picture/job. Having said that I canāt reproduce all the good results in this version that I was achieving with v2.3.x.
I feel that there is too much emphasis on increasing the resolution of pictures that are already quite good, and not enough on improving amateur pictures, e.g. sharp or distorted faces on fuzzy bodies look very wrong, and a lot of time goes on trying to get an acceptable balance, often with no success.
In Video AI we can save many named settings, so why not in Photo AI? The AI in VideoAI does a much better job of improving SD/lo-res picture quality imho.
No, it has not since it is a problem on the Apple side. The problem is known ā and has to solved by them. We are all waiting for this to comeā¦
Agree totally 100% with this post. The updates are awful. Makes the process longer than is necessary. Lots of irritating bugs and can no longer minimise my screen so have to stare at a full screen.
I agree completely. With this update Topaz is choosing the wrong path and Iām extremely disappointed. I see no improvement to the software with this update, to the contrary the software now seems " clunky" and awkward. As I experience this update, itās a downgrade, what a mess.
You need to fix or rollback.
Concur with all said.
Come onā¦ making more clicks than everā¦ why have a mostly empty set of tools on the right side, instead of previously they were all there to seeā¦ Iāve tried to drag some of them, but itās not working as I would expect. I just want it (2.4.1) to mostly be like beforeā¦ Wow. Just hidingā¦ for what purpose?
Exactly.
Have you tried using a different model, or reducing noise reduction down to minimum? I have seen the effect and these worked for me in one combination or another.
I totally agree, this latest version of the software is nearly unusable.
BTW some new generation folks think that a super clean (empty) interface is sexy, then diging out the features burried many clicks deep is cool. No guys, having to endlessly click to reveal the options is COUNTERPRODUCTIVE. Forget the fanciness of the things, focus on usability!
Just go back the previous UI, it was perfect, it doesnāt needs fixing. A minimum amount of clicks, effects can be turned on-off, and the zoom level is working as expected (not jumping as the image size changes)
Hi Marcus,
I second your thoughts. After shelling out $99.00 for this upgrade, I am equally upset. The program is super slow now, and the layout cumbersome. Why people always have to scratch what doesnāt itch, Iāll never understand. I hope they can get this fixed asap.
I have to agree, version 2.4 is a mess, not only is it too sluggish but I can no longer find the āselectionā tool to tell it what to fix/ignore. has it been removed?
In every tool menu there is a selection, with pencil, AI and so on.
And when its slow, choose your GPU in the preferences as AI Processor.
This thread is strange, now it is possible to edit different areas with different settings and people donāt like it.
Before, if you wanted to denoise your subject differently from your background, you had to go through Photoshop or whatever, but now you donāt have to.
