Topaz Photo AI 3.3.0 skips the upscale of parts of images during batch processing

In version 3.3.0, I batch-upscaled 1,500 images. Around 1,400 images exported correctly, but 100+ images processed and saved to the correct folder without any size change—the upscale didn’t apply to these images. When I tried to upscale these 100+ images again, an even larger portion exported without size changes. I’ve been using Topaz for two years, and this is the first time I’ve encountered this issue.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Upload a batch of images.
  2. Select all.
  3. Apply Autopilot (which should be set up to upscale and include other functions, like sharpening).
  4. Export. (Not sure if this matters, but for accuracy— I exported to a different folder than the original and changed the format to JPEG.)

I can send the log files, but I don’t know how to show them through screenshots since they’re very large.

I’ve heard that some of my colleagues have also encountered this issue.

My Topaz configuration is 3.3.0 on Windows 10.

in combination with face-recovering, the upscale makes a mess when aplied to multiple images.

The face-recovering was actually disabled in my settings.

I’d like to get some more information to help troubleshoot the problem you are having.

Could you send us your computer’s full system profile?

Also if you can, please try to recreate this problem in Topaz Photo AI, then go to Help > Open Log Folder, please send me all of the files within that folder. You should be able to attach them directly as a response to this thread.

If you would prefer you can securely submit your files(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Make sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.

Dropbox File Request

Hi, John,
thank you for your response,
I’m sorry, but I was really eager to keep working, so I uninstalled Topaz 3.3.0 and went back to the previous version, 3.2.2. So I can’t recreate the issue now, but luckily I still have the log files from my last sessions with 3.3.0. Maybe you can find the info you need there.
I’m also sending you the full system profile as you requested.
