Topaz Photo AI 2.1.2 Save Image prompt occurs when no changes have been made

Topaz Photo AI 2.1.2 on MacBook with M3 Pro on Sonoma

The Save Image prompt does not seem to be aware of whether changes have been made or not. Two cases:

  1. Make some changes in the UI
  2. Click Save Image, confirm save choices, wait for completion.
  3. In the filmstrip, click Close Image.
  4. The Save Image dialog pops up, though the file was just saved.

or

  1. Open an image
  2. Do not make changes in the UI
  3. In the filmstrip, click Close Image.
  4. The small Save Image dialog pops up.
  5. Choose to save; the full Save Image dialog appears. Confirm save choices, wait for completion.
  6. TPAI returns to the filmstrip. Choose Close Image.
  7. The Save Image dialog pops up, though the file was just saved.
