Topaz Photo AI 2.0 Stops Processing

When opening an image through the File->Plug-in Extras menu, the photo opens and gets stuck about 1/4 into DeNoise. The screen is not frozen and I can continue to move the image around, but it never processes or even starts over after moving the image. Note, it DOES NOT crash.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Open Raw File in Lightroom
  2. Open Raw file in Topaz Photo AI using the Plug-in Extras Menu
  3. Wait

Thanks for reaching out. Please reproduce this issue.

When it happens again, open Topaz Photo AI, go to the menu bar on the top and click the Help > Open Log Folder menu option. Attach the last 3 log files you see so I can check the contents and figure out what is happening.

Seems to have cleared up with the new version.

I believe I’m having the same issue with 2.0.1:

@john.dubicki Our developers are currently investigating this. Please upload the log files so we can use it for troubleshooting.

It started doing it again even with the latest version.

Please open Topaz Photo AI, go to the menu bar on the top and click the Help > Open Log Folder menu option. Attach the logs to your reply so I can check the contents and figure out the cause.

This is still not fixed. In the latest version it now says “Error Running Model.” It then gives me a link to make sure I meet the minium requirements.

My box is well within specs.

This is what the log is saying:

So, this is definetly a graphics card issue. I am running a GTX 1660 TI. It has 6 gigs of RAM and is autoatically overlclocked. This should be well within specs.

Yeah, in one of the 2.x.x updates after I initially reported this, they essentially decided to not support my old card and forced the app to use CPU processing only, which “fixed” things, but it was extremely slow to process images that way. In the end I bought an RTX 3060 which thoroughly improved Topaz’s performance.

They should support the 1660 TI. That is no slouch of a card.

Hi Matt. Sorry to hear you’re having problems. However, since the Remove Tool was introduced Topaz stated GPU graphic cards below 8GB were now no longer supported.

Having said that you could always download an older version that’s more stable with your system.

You’re find older versions under the Release Notes category

Wonderful, I just bought this graphics card last year

You may want to update the web site to say that minimum requirements have changed. You are still showing that a 4 gig card is supported.

Hi Matt. I’m a user like you, I don’t work for Topaz this is a user community forum.
