Load Up C1 select a RAW file, Edit With Topaz Plugin, lets Photo AI work the image, and then export back to C1.
All you get is weird lines on the image, at the moment this system is unusable for me, not very happy.
I can help fix it if you tell me what you would like me to do.
Steps:
Load C1
Select RAW File
Right Click, Edit with Topaz AI
Adjust your image in Photo AI
Save back to C1
Results are a broken TIFF file (see attached)
Topaz Photo AI v3.1.0 on Mac M1 and M3 Series.
What type of RAW file are you using with the Capture One Topaz Photo AI plugin? Does this occur on all images you are working with or just particular images?
Nikon Z9 NEF files all of them every one I have tried gives the same result
So the issue is this:
When you select Process with Topaz Photo AI in the C1 Edit with Box:
You get the default export as DNG file, this is then opened in Photo AI and then when you save back it converts it to a TIFF. This is broken
If you follow the same process but in C1 select TIFF instead of DNG the plugin works fine.
At the moment I cannot tell if this is a C1 issue to a Topaz Issue, but has something to do with the way DNG files are read and written.
I think that somewhere on Photo AI V3.1 the DNG process has got a bug, as I can export DNG from C1 without issue to other software. This could be in the plugin or the actual Topaz software?
Please help.
The work around is to export from C1 as TIFF and then Photo AI correctly writes the TIFF file back
I wanted to reach back out to you in regards to your open service tickets with our development team for Photo AI regarding your Capture One plugin issue.
You can now round-trip your RAW files in Capture Oone to Photo AI and back while preserving important RAW properties as a DNG file. You can download the latest installer from the following link:
Please let us know how the new version update goes for you, and if you have any comments or feedback always feel free to share with us here
Note : If using the Capture One plugin for Photo AI, the enhancements for Adjust Lighting and Balance Color for RAW files have been disabled, it would be recommended to adjust these options with Capture One.
