Topaz 3.2.2 shuts itself off

After I downloaded the most recent updates (v3.2.2), the instant I try to upload a photo onto Photo AI it shuts itself off. I tried several times and got the same result even when I restarted the computer. The program is unusable as it is.

I’m experiencing the same issue after loading version 3.2.2 on 10/05/2024. No error message, either. I’m running Windows 10. Also, I attempted to open Topaz DeNoise, but that shut down as soon as I loaded a photo. ;-(

@paul.arneson - thanks for flagging this. I do see a crash report on our side, however it shows that your computer only has 2GB of VRAM when the minimum to run the app (any version) is to have 6GB of VRAM.

We mention this here.

As a workaround you can test doing Edit > Preferences > General > AI Processor and set it to CPU. This is a workaround, as CPU is not memory dedicated to graphics. Until you have a machine that meets requirements, keep in mind you are never getting the intended processing speeds the app was designed to offer, and you are constantly pushing your computer over it’s limit. There might come a version that will now work on your computer, as the 6GB of VRAM is a minimum requirement for any Photo AI version, and we constantly add features to every release, and each version will become slower and slower for you, which will be the opposite for users that meet requirements. If you have another machine that meets requirements, test Photo AI on it and let us know if any crashes occur!
