Tile lower resolution segments for maximum performance

From my own experience with Mac and looking at various benchmarks for PC, there appears to be significantly lower performance per pixel for lower input resolutions. I’ve worked around this issue on Mac Studio by using scripts to “tile” standard definition clips together (e.g. 5 horizontally) to create higher resolution input prior to upscaling (with the necessary processing afterwards to crop and reassemble). Even with this additional processing, the overall performance gain is well worth it - 50-60% on a Mac studio. (I use ProRes for all the intermediate work)

So, for the benefit of all upscaling SD, how about Topaz doing this tiling for us, behind the scenes in their own code?

Thanks.
