As you can see, my machine is really a nice one… but Video AI takes only 10-15% of the CPU capacity, resulting in 5fps (upscaling 4x with proteus) or under 2 fpx (upscaling 4x with rhea).
Is there any way to speed things up? I mean, it’s really frustrating to see that this potent machine runs only on 10% of its power.
Hi, most of the processing is being done by the GPU cores and / or the Neural Engine. In Activity Monitor, use ⌘4 to view the GPU history. There isn’t a built-in way to view the Neural Engine load, but there are 3rd party tools like Asitop, MacPM or Macmon which can do that.
The Mac Mini M4 Pro is disappointing for it’s price - and really annoying fan noise when the GPU cores are in full use. It works out cheaper to buy 2 x base Mac Mini M4s and get higher overall performance.
