I’ve just posted that, the high res (original) should be 6000 x 4000 px not 1920 x 1280 px so I don’t know if you can reproduce the problem.
Please send me your system profile information so I can check if your computer hardware is up to date.
You can securely submit your files(s) to my Dropbox using the link below.
Please be sure to send me a note here to let me know you sent something.
Hi John
I’ve sent the file via Dropbox and I’ve also attached it to this email.

Thanks for sending in that information.
I want to see if updating your GPU driver will resolve the problem, as there is a more up-to-date driver that has been released.
Please use the following link to update your driver:
https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html
After the update, let me know if you are still experiencing the problem.i
Sorry for the delay in replying, have updated my drivers and they do make a few things a little faster, but they don’t have any effect on this problem, that in the final image EVERY pixel is RGB 0,0,0
I have tried reducing the file size and that does solve the problem to some extent, insofar that it produces an image.
I then moved away from the photo of the comet just because it is all mostly black and whites and uploaded a random photo i took in Ibiza.
The photo that came straight out of the camera is all black again - RGB 0,0,0. note this is the jpg not the RAW file which I’ll come back to later. Reducing the original photo by 50% we can get an image, but it arguably has less detail than the original, look closely at the buildings on the hillside, rounded arches are now square etc etc. Also look at the strata on the rocks on the right hand side of the skyline.
I’m going to try the RAW version of that photo now and will post back after it has finished rendering.
While that renders, here are the logfiles since I installed the update I’ve put them in your Dropbox → Mike-Jackson-Logs.zip
OK, it processes the RAW file in the same way, RGB 0,0,0. The EXIF information is retained though. I don’t see much point in uploading it, it is what it is.
Any thoughts from someone at Topaz would be much appreciated.
Last post, then it’s up to topaz
I have tried to super focus a simple jpg file, a black cross on a white background and the result is still a totally black result.
So the problem is not the size of the file in bytes, a paltry 361 KB, it’s the size of the file in pixels regardless of the content in the photo.
Update, I tried forcing topaz to use the CPU and that just produced the black images shown above. I then forced it to use the GPU and AMD reported a crash. See attached image.
I have sent a detailed bug report to AMD. It reports a timeout but this is within a few seconds of clicking ‘Render’.
Yes, I am still experiencing the problem, please see below
I’d like for the team to take a look at this together would you please send in an email to us at help@topazlabs.com and we can work together in order to get to the bottom of this issue.

@mike.jackson-3090 -seeing you sent in an email. I’ve replied to you. I’ll put here If other users have similar specs as you, but essentially, this machine does not meet the minimum requirements to run Photo AI, and this will be especially apparent in the memory intensive tool such as Super Focus, Remove Tool and Upscale.
The AMD card only has 0.5GB of VRAM when the minimum to run Photo AI is 6GB. The CPU AI processor step can be a workaround, however it’s not guaranteed that Super Focus can work on that CPU as it’s shared memory, not graphics memory. Here are the System Requirements: System Requirements | Topaz Photo AI
OK, thanks for the info.
I have to use a laptop because I have to edit in the field, so I guess I will have to wait for the facility to use your servers appears.
