@pk.shahid - v1.4.1 does not include support for the ARW files for this camera. When this camera is supported, the releases notes f the version will mention the support, and We will update this thread as well.
In the meantime, you can still edit its RAW files, just have to convert the ARW to DNG format before importing them in Topaz: With Adobe DNG Converter or with LRC import options (Copy as DNG).

Topaz Photo 1.61. - I see that your website says “We regularly add support for new cameras added in the latest RawDigger patches.”. So how’s that working for the Sony A7M5 RAW files then? Rawdigger updated in May this year. More than six months after the release of this camera Topaz cannot open and process these files. The company maybe great with AI - but the basics of photography have been completely forgotten…

@malcolm.dodds - The unsupported camera guide highlights that RAW files from this camera will work in the app if you convert them to the universal DNG format - With Adobe DNG Converter or with LRC import options (Copy as DNG).
As for native ARW support, camera compatibility is handled similarly to bug fixes and prioritized based on overall impact and the number of users affected. Since converting to the universal DNG format is a fully functional workaround that preserves the RAW data, adding native ARW support is prioritized behind issues that have a greater impact or no available workaround.
If all goes well, we’re aiming to include native ARW support in the next patch. However, since that release also includes other fixes that are still in testing, we don’t provide timelines until updates are ready. If any issues are found during ARW testing, support may be deferred to a subsequent patch.
We’ll update this thread as soon as native ARW support is available. Until then, the universal DNG format will preserve your RAW data and is fully supported in all current versions of Topaz Photo.

The 1.6.1 update was released more than two months ago. It seems like Topaz has suspended all development of the Photo app.
The Topaz website says “Topaz Photo supports RAW files from dedicated digital cameras (DSLR, mirrorless, medium format, etc.)** that are included in the LibRaw 202403 snapshot list, along with additional camera models supported directly by Topaz.”
LibRaw has supported all three types of Sony A7M5 files since May 2026, with the lossless compressed type months before that.
The statement about supporting “new” camera models is clearly untrue, and since the Sony A7M5 was released in December 2025 it’s no longer a “new” model.
I paid for an annual update subscription in December 2025, and have been unable to benefit from it.
Topaz feels to me like a developer that cannot be trusted.
(The DNG “workaround” is not worth pursuing in my experience - Demosaicing, Denoise and Sharpening in Lightroom do a far superior job.)

Circling back to confirm that Topaz Photo v1.7.0 supports the ARW files for the Sony A7 Mark V.
- Once you have updated in app to v1.7.0, you can test the ARW files and forego converting them to DNG first.
- If any issues arise with the ARW files, send in details to support@topazlabs.com and we can relay to the development team!
