If it takes a month, I can live with that.

If it takes a month, might it be impertinent to ask if Founder subscriptions could have a month tacked on to their account?

If it takes less that 1/2 month, we eat it in the name of progress.

% Completion is a small ask.

It gives comfort to those waiting in the queue. Like when phone support says: “You are caller #9. Your average wait time is 22 minutes.” At least you know there is time to brew a coffee or crack open a can of beer.

A month subscription gratis for say 300,000 users is still $13.50* x 300,000 is over $4MM. That is unfair to Topaz Labs, LLC, a company trying their best with a massive transition.

May I make another suggestion: give Founders a one-time extra 300 credit. No revenue is sacrificed. It’s a goodwill gesture. Some users may find both acceptable and more generous.

This won’t just be for the delays, but also for software glitches in the 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 versions of Topaz apps.

  • Per Eric: clarified $163/year max
    $163/yr x 1yr/12 mo = $13.58/mo

yeah, they should. It is the 20th, almost the 21st, for something that was rolled-out on the 16th.
The local rendering of the programs seems to hit my computer a lot more. Starlight is about the same as before and those two models don’t really affect me using my computer for normal things. Iris, and Proteus, bog me down. This wasn’t how they were before moving to Topaz Video 1.0.0

If anything, this means they are making better use of your computer’s resources. AI enhancement is resource intensive. May I recommend using Process Lasso to automatically assign a lower priority to Topaz? That way it will not interfere with other usage of your PC as much.

I’m not typically a squeaky wheel, but 4 business days later, and I’m still “Pending Studio Transition” with 3 active subscriptions. Little bit awkward/frustrating.

Yes, I’m not entirely sure why you’re sending me these screenshots. This is expected when running a local model. I gave you a recommendation, Process Lasso (which is free), to help your system prioritize user activity over Topaz AI. The other answers are either to only use Topaz when you’re not at the PC, or to use cloud rendering.

And still no 300 credit. If they are “Use it or Lose it” do we have 30 - 6 = 24 days to use them? I only just now see what is left over from the 1,400 credits I bought earlier. The free web apps are stil inaccessble.

First it was buy by Sept 16, or you won’t see the Founder benefits.
Now, it is, “You bought, and still don’t see Founder benefits.”

It was sort of a hard sell and a soft deliver.

The delay is understandable.
A misleading hard sell is not.

“Under promise, over deliver” attributed by some to Tom Peters (1987)

I have yet to find an advocate for “Over promise, under deliver”.
Though there are examples in business: Elon does it all the time.

Future subscribers won’t will a day. They join after the transition. It is Founders that are taking in the short. Or so it would seem.

I am not exactly complaining. What happened is understandable.
I am just proposing a solution: add a month gratis to cover what it takes to transition millions of user.

Delays, glitches, bugs, etc are all part of software.
I am just say there should be an equitable remedy to be fair.
Something. I have made one suggestion. Perhaps there are others.
I am all ears.

Of course, since most of us paid by Sept 16, there really isn’t any negotiating clout.

I agree.it is always better to say that you will have your car back in 1 week, but actually have it finished for them in one day., leading to a happier customer.

So is the latest update breaking everything for others too? Starlight and other models either don’t download, crash immediately, and cannot be run locally any more even though it ran fine a day ago. I messaged support but curious if this is just a general issue due to the account migrations.

And if it was a rental car (read: subscription) and you paid upfront for a week. You would be none too pleased to get it a day later than promised only to be told you get use it for only because that’s what is remaining on the week. The day you aren’t using the car counting against the rental period. Pay for a week, get 7 days. Fair’s fair.

If we paid for 12 months, we should get 12 months of all the promised Founder benefits. Until the full benefits happen, the clock doesn’t start to tick on the pre-paid subscription.

And then, no complaining about the delays as Support and IT are working their tails off doing their best.

And, there is no longer an impact to us. There is an unavoidable delay, but no loss of benefits. The clock is stopped until the prepaid Founder benefits kick in. A square deal for everyone.
