Still not showing still image sequence on timeline

This is still a problem and has been reported by others. We were told it has been submitted to the team, but so far no workaround has been provided.

I have tried loading png, tif, jpg files and none work. When I try DPX, VAI converts them to TIFF files which do open, but appear to be completely washed out and overexposed. An uncompressed AVI file opens correctly. This happens in the6.0.1, the 6.0.1.0.b beta, the 5.4.0.8a as well. Prior versions worked fine. Please advise

Are you seeing this with only one image sequence set or different ones in various formats?

All still image sequences no mater which format (png, jpg, tif) do not show in the preview window. Topaz will, however, render previews and the timeline - I just can’t see the preview. They know about this issue as of early November, just waiting for an update on what to do.

Ah okay, go to the NVIDIA drivers update page and download the latest Studio Driver for your GPU.

Uninstall the Video AI from your system completely.

Let that driver install but do not install the added GeForce experience app and then restart your system and reinstall the app.

That should resolve the black preview issue.

I did as you suggested and the problem remains.

I also have this problem which is disappointing.

I just upgraded from version 2 to 6 (the latest) and I have this same issue. I was able to preview image sequence sources in the timeline just fine in version 2. When can we expect a resolution for this issue? Or should I start the process of a refund request?

I also upgraded my Nvidia driver to the latest (566.36) the other week. Studio driver with “GeForce experience” option not installed. I have the same issue of not being able to preview image sequence source files in Video AI 6.0.1.

Just spoke with the team and they are working on a patch for this issue. Hoping to have it resolved for the next beta for testing.

I have a workaround, using .AVI files, but will welcome the ability to go back to still sequence. Also, would be a big time-saver if raw DNG files could be imported directly. My scanner creates sequential raw DNG files and i need to convert them to PNGs or an AVI file prior to importing them into Topaz Video AI.

Kind Regards,
