Have you considered B&W for this image?

No, I have not considered B&W for this image though I guess it would work well enough. I did not do this for this image but often do a worked up B&W image and then layer it over the original colour using the luminosity layer blending method. This allows me to think separately about chromatic and tonal aspects of the image. You could say it is a bit like Renaissance painters using a monochrome “dead colour” underpainting beneath the fully visible top layer.
