After downloading the model the export buttons stay greyed out. “Export disabled. This model is only available in the cloud.” ← Why download 6GB if it is in the cloud?
I thought local use should be possible for Founding Customers. (Two licenses active)
I have the same exact issue as OP. Both Starlight and Starlight Sharp did download just fine, system checks passed, still the local processing is greyed out. I have an Nvidia RTX 4060 TI with 16GB vram, so it should by all means be enough to run Starlight? I am a “Founding Customer”, too.
Apologies, but new customer here. So to clarify, the local Starlight model is only available to Founding Customers?
I’ve been searching around as to why I can’t get it to run locally (despite the app letting me download 12GB of models and passing system compatibility checks), but this post is the first mention I’ve found of it being limited to a subset of customers.
Same issue here, founder status and no ability to run starlight locally. Was working the other day in version 1.0.0 - I suspect it is something with the migrations not properly taking into account our status.
as I understood it, is Starlight (formerly mini) included, when you have active subscription, means no longer available for a perpetual version. “Founder” is additional, with it you also get the “starlight sharp” model + seven other apps
Go to your Topaz Account via their website. Check your account I show " Pending Studio Transition - Your studio transition is in progress and will be available soon." Its now a waiting game. Maybe slowing rolling out conversions so servers can scale???
Hello. Could someone please clarify if I am looking in the right place for where it might say “In Progress” for the transition? When I log into my account it says next to Subscriptions: Topaz Video “Active” in green letters. But I cannot use Starlight locally. I am a founding customer with a current subscription to VideoAI. When I launch Topaz Video, the Starlight export button is grayed out and says “This model is only available on the cloud.” I have been using Starlight Mini since it was released. Is there anything additional I need to buy or enable in order to use Starlight locally in the new software? I emailed customer support yesterday but so far no reply. I’m glad I still have Topaz 7 installed. Thank you very much for your help!
My account status is no longer in progress and i still cannot run locally.
Support told me they are facing issues with founders running starlight locally in the new studio version but the old versions it should work (which it does for my in v7)
Per support:
“We have been seeing some issues with certain systems incorrectly blocking local export access to the Starlight (formerly Starlight Mini) and Starlight Sharp models for founding customers.”
Thank you for the information. I guess we’ll just have to wait until they can fix the issue. Starlight Mini is still working in v7 for me so I will stick with that.
I had the same issue with it being greyed out, I fixed my issue by clicking the “Log out” option within Video AI and re-entering my account details to sign in again and it’s no longer greyed out for me. Pretty easy fix, might work for you.
For users with a Pro subscription or Founder access this has been resolved by logging out and back in to the app to refresh the connection.
If you are a new user without a Pro subscription, or an older user who did not get the Founder tag added to their account you will only be able to run it via the cloud.
If you feel your account should have access to it and it is still not there, please email the support team directly at help@topazlabs.com for assistance.
I have installed starlight mini and starlight sharp until it says “download complete”
I can’t select the model and save a video file locally. It simply says “only available in the cloud”. It used to work with Video AI (the previous version)
