I’m getting unexpected results from stabilization of short video clip of an animal crossing grasslands. I’ve tried it with 2 - 4 passes and also auto-clipped and full frame but get similar results. Is this a known short coming of the current version 6.0.1?
The result has jittery random blurry areas all around the outside of the focus area.

This is the result
This is the original about the same frame
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi Doug,
Can you share a screenshot of the stabilization settings used?
I also get these sorts of results for the background with almost every usage.
Yes, deniz.k it pretty much makes the stabilization models useless for now. I hope Topaz Labs can address this model’s issues quickly.
Hi Doug,
Have you tried running it without the jittery motion checkbox checked? This can sometimes happen when there is lots of pixel distance, depending on the input.
Thanks for the follow-up Margaux. I reran the stabilization without the jittery motion check box checked and that kept the blurring from showing up.
I have a couple of questions if you have a moment. What do you mean by pixel distance in your comment? Also, when would it be appropriate to have that jittery motion check box checked? I still see more jumpiness in my hand held video than I’d like.
pixel distance is the amount of displacement between the pixels between each frame of the video.
Jittery motion is to correct parallax distortion or tilting motion. It does run Chronos fast for each interpolation pass which is likely what is causing issues as it works to blend and interpolate the frames.
