[Sony A1 Mark II Support] - Click here for workarounds if you have this unsupported camera

When exporting a Photo using Plug in Extras from Lightroom Classic, and then after edit in Photo AI v.3.4.3 i can not export back again to Lightromm. I get the message “Error DNG write error” It is only a problem with Sony A1 mkII. I have no problems with Sony A1

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Step 1: exporting Sony A1 mkII ARW raw file from Lightroom Classsic to Photo AI
  2. Step 2: Make edits and then exporting file back to Lightroom again
  3. Step 3: getting the message “Error DNG write error”

Currently, the Sony A1 II is not supported by Photo AI, but we do have an open ticket with our development team to fully support this camera model in the future. We’ve added your information to this ongoing support ticket, and we will keep you updated as we work on adding support for it.

In the meantime, the workaround is to convert your ARW files to DNG. I’ve included some details below on workflows that can help with this processing:

  1. If you have Lightroom Classic, Import your RAW files into Lightroom Classic and make sure you select “Copy as DNG”, then Use the RAW plugin of Photo AI accessed through File > Plug-in Extras > Process with Topaz Photo AI

  2. You can also use another program of your choice. A great free option is the Adobe DNG Converter.

@office-4512 - you can revert to v3.4.2 here - however, nothing changed since that version changing the fact this it is not a supported camera. You can reach out to support@topazlabs.com and we can add a development team ticket for its support. Until then, a DNG copy of the file is needed for it to work in Photo AI.

@perholmq - message us at support@topazlabs.com if any issues occur using the DNG workaround Aleandre posted until the camera is supported. We will post here once this camera is supported!
