Solution for Weird Faces, Upscaling from LQ to HQ upscale without weird faces

If you have any specific settings for Yadif or Mukun that would be great to see the difference between virtualDub and Hybrid. Thank you.

here i tried qtgmc with draft + maa2 antialiasing without resolution change (720 x 576) followed by proteus hd (1280 x 720) with default options and detail recovery at 0.

Any experience with VLC player Deinterlace options ?
I have found that even better than QTGMC , I found ā€œDiscardā€ and ā€œMeanā€ options give better result than QTGMC. We have to find a way to save those videos, may be by doing screen recording that could be saved.

I can’t find any better options than qtgmc in vlc. I had already tried to record the vlc screen a while ago but it would be necessary to be able to record without loss, and I don’t know if it is possible, with obs for example. I have these options (French) :

Try 2nd and 4th options from list. I found both really good.

the second option ā€œignoreā€ is one of the worst lol, the fps are not doubled, the video is played at 25 fps instead of 50 fps and there is a lot of staircase effect. the fourth option ā€œaverageā€ is not great either, still at 25 fps, the image is blurred because it averages the two fields and there is still this staircase effect.
with yadif x2 it is well doubled, there is no more staircase effect but it is slightly more blurred and there are some artifacts, with bob, it is doubled, there are staircase effects, visually when reading, I find that ā€œlinearā€ is the best. there is a slight staircase effect but it is slightly more blurred… I think that muksun with virtualdub remains the best

Ok. It depends video by video, mine looked better with ā€œmeanā€ option, of course with no doubling the frames. May original get better , capture it, then double the frame later. At least with original resolution, that played video without those interlaced lines (staircase).
Thank you for the information.

I also tried deinterlacing without doubling the images, at 25 fps then using aion, appolo, chronos but there are always artifacts, and necessarily loss of details… and I would really like to keep the 50 fps for old family videos to have all the original details. in souvenir videos, I think that fluidity is important

I just tried all the interpolation modes on a 50 fps video deinterlaced at 50 fps > 120 fps. There are still more artifacts, I tried deinterlacing with qtgmc in draft at 25 fps, and proteus at 25 fps in hd works well, but there is loss of detail in the movements and there are a little less artifacts than if it was deinterlaced at 50 fps. So if we double at 50 fps with appolo for example, the video is quite clean but there is still this loss of detail in the movements

there are also fewer artifacts by doing a first pass with proteus in hd then importing and doing a pass with chronos by doubling rather than combining proteus and chronos, in my case chronos is better than appolo and aion
