Smooth video without increasing framerate?

Hello!

I have an animated video that runs at 60fps but is not smooth at all. I would like to make the video look more smooth without increasing the fps, if possible. I imagine there must be some way to do this since a lot of 60fps videos have buttery smooth motion.

I know about frame interpolation and can use that to make the video motion more smooth, but that would also significantly increase the framerate. Is there any way to make the video motion more smooth without increasing framerate?

Thank you for any help offered!

It sounds like this video may have duplicate frames. Try setting the Remove Duplicate Frames option to 25 or 30 and keeping the original 60 fps framerate:

Doesn’t work with this program… You’re better off using virtualdub 2 with the remove frames plugin, works MUCH faster… Oh, and it ACTUALLY works!

Then use (If you’re able) the beta version 3.5.1.0.b as that’s the SOLITARY version of both the beta and general release that DOESN’T produce duplicate frames from the interpolation process!

Thank you for the replies! I will try these suggestions later and see how it goes.
