Slow responsiveness of edit masking tool

When attemting to refine masks the cursor has long lag time making adjustments difficult. The cursor lags well behind my mouse movement. My iMac i5 (2019) 3.7 Ghz/6core is plenty powerful with 40GB RAM. Does anyone else have this issue ?

Please follow the instructions below to perform a clean install to troubleshoot better why you had this problem with Topaz Photo AI:

  1. Be sure you have fully closed any plugins, such as Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, etc.
  2. Clear any previous plist files on your computer for Topaz Photo AI | Topaz Photo AI | plist Files Mac
  3. Disable any antivirus, firewall, VPN, or proxy software that might be active on your computer. These tools sometimes interfere with the installer’s ability to download the model files.
  4. Ensure that the Topaz Photo AI installer has all the proper settings in your system by going to your Mac System Settings > Privacy & Security tab and scrolling down to the security section. You will want to make sure you have ‘App Store and identified developers’ selected | MacOS | Example of Proper System Preferences
  5. Rerun the installer. You can download a new installer from your account’s download page | Topaz Labs | My Account | Download Page

Let me know how that goes for you and I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

I followed all instructions but it still has almost unusable lag in cursor response when masking. Now it is also crashing when rendering especially with new Super Focus
I did not find any plist files. Hopefully I did it correctly

Hi John, Thanks for the first prompt reply. Hoping to get your help further. 3 seemingly related problems. First is large lag in moving cursor during edit selection. Second was crashing while rendering Super Focus and even regular enhancements. third, it has not crashed since deleting plists and re-installing the app. BUT Super Focus is unusable. It literally has an ETA of 5775 minutes. I let it go overnight and it was still in the same spot but not frozen. I opgraded my ISP to 1gbps /35mbps with direct connection (not wifi) and have a 2019 imac (although it is i5 Intel with Radeon 580x GPU -not great but shouldn’t be this bad) If someone assures me this is about my hardware , I will pay to upgrade to new M4 Mac Mini but if this is about a beta launch that just needs more time, I can accept that and wait.
