SKV89's Video Compare Tool (Useful companion for Topaz Video)

SKV89’s Video Compare Tool v1.1.3

Compare two versions of a video, find corresponding scenes, and inspect the differences in detail or motion.

What’s new since v1.0

  • Scene sync at the current frame: press Enter in any comparison mode. Independent Sync timelines make it easy to align sources with different intros, advertisements, or edits, then resync further along the video.
  • Fast, Deep, or automatic fallback: choose a quicker attempt, a more thorough search, or Fast followed by Deep only when needed. Improved matching handles difficult differences in picture quality, borders, and logos while leaving uncertain results unapplied.
  • Flexible ranges and undo: search ±30 seconds through ±10 minutes or the whole video. Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y undo and redo automatic or manual sync adjustments.
  • Optional Optimize Auto: benchmark CPU worker settings for your machine. Fast and Deep keep separate compatible profiles, and the results window can be resized or maximized.
  • Smoother viewing: updated reveal-line presentation and zoom-aware panning, plus fixes for startup/pause alignment and the first Overlay switch after a large pan.
  • Clearer controls: a compact Sync & alignment layout, stable scrollable Help, and readable Sync this scene / Cancel search buttons.
  • Much faster startup: open the portable app and start comparing sooner, including when launching two selected videos from Explorer.
  • Lower idle overhead: adaptive interaction updates slow down when the cursor is stationary or outside the comparison, reducing unnecessary CPU activity. Resource use still depends on the videos, playback, and sync searches.
  • Optional playback-drift correction: choose whether ongoing speed or seek corrections should maintain the current alignment.

The four comparison modes, paired JPG screenshots, remembered view settings, and convenient Explorer SendTo/right-click commands remain available.
