Within the Sharpen tool, it would be advantageous to be able to select (or deselect) areas based on a luminosity range. Why? I mainly photograph macro subjects where small highlights and dust are a problem. Sharpening brings these into very stark relief. OK, I can and do use the brush to exclude them from sharpening, but an automated method would be very welcome.
