Sharpen AI flicker/flashing (For Mac M1 Max, Latest Sonoma)

Hi,
My Sharpen AI is Flickering/Flashing when I use it, its very annoying. See screen video capture here: thomaslab.se/video/

Tried to install it again, but same issue. Have not ried to uninstall all files, don’t know how to do that?

Thanks in advance!

I am getting the same thing but if you access through Photoshop as a plug in it does not flash as much and will actually process the image. I am on M1 ultra chip - was working fine with Ventura

Running Sonoma 14.1.2 on an M1 Macbook Pro and also experiencing the same issue. I’ve tried in Photoshop, Lightroom and also as an native app and I get the lightshow. It was working fine on Ventura.

I would love to hear from someone from Topaz

Hi, I have the same problem on my iMac with chip M1 and Sonoma 14.1.2
After uninstalling and deleting plist files from Preferences files it happens again (and then it crashes and I am obliged to repeat the uninstall procedure…)
Someone has a solutions?

I raised a support ticket and was told that there is currently no solution and since there will be no more updates for Sharpen AI to move to Photo AI…

Thanks for your feedback, puihang.
I think it is a problem Topaz has to solve since they keep selling Sharpen…
If I use Photo AI it doesn’t work well as Sharpen, it adds too many artifacts to pictures.

Hi Lorenzo.boi,

I don’t think they will. Below is what they said to me:

"Hi Pui,

Thanks for reaching out!

Unfortunately, we haven’t found a way to resolve this conflict. Since DeNoise AI and Sharpen AI will no longer receive updates, we can’t guarantee this will function on MacOS Sonoma because these apps stopped receiving updates on MacOS Ventura.

We are moving users towards Topaz Photo AI, which combines the functionalities of all three apps into an all-in-one app. Topaz Photo AI also receives weekly updates.

Please use Topaz Photo AI to sharpen instead.

Sincerely,”
