Running an image twice through Gigapixel

I have a nice desktop computer at home with the powerful graphics card and a lot of ram memory. But I’m away from home for a couple of months with only my laptop. I want to enlarge an image 4x in Gigapixel.

If I try to enlarge it 4x in one run my laptop locks up. But I find that I can double the image, and then double it again.

I’m just wondering if I’m losing quality when I’m doing this?

I’ve never seen a loss in quality from doing this, and in some cases the result was actually superior.

Nice! Thanks. I’ve only used it a few times so I was having difficulty accessing it from the looks of the file. Looks good. Just worried about the way it will print. Appreciate your feedback.
