Ross Creek Cedars, NW Montana

This image was one of my initial attempts at “photos as fine art”. It was shot in 2001 with my first digital camera, a Kodak DC 4800 with a 3.2 megapixel (!) capture ability. I quickly realized that not only could I apply pleasing painterly effects, but these artful photos could be enlarged much more than “straight” photos and still retain visual quality. This image was shot in the Ross Creek Cedars area in northwest Montana, a magnificent quiet grove of giant trees. The PS filter (from Neat?) was, I’m sure, the basis for Topaz BuzSim.
