[Resolved] - JPEGs get skip in explorer Photos viewer

When I want to view my photos, I double click it in file explorer and it opens in “Photos” and can use the arrow to scroll to the next photo.

BUT photos skips all of the photos I created in Photo AI 3. They are being saved as jpg. If I double click the topaz edited photo, it opens, but if I use the arrow, it goes to the first picture in the folder.

Any thoughts to fix this?

Thanks,

Bill

Hi.

Sorry haven’t got a clue, obviously seems like the Photos app isn’t recognizing your edited photos as part of the sequence in the folder.

Sounds like a strange one, I can only offer a few tips

Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Check the File Properties Right-click one of the Photo AI 3 images, go to “Properties,” and check if anything looks different compared to your other images.

  2. Rename the Files Try renaming the edited files to match the format of the original ones. Sometimes, certain characters or metadata can cause them to be skipped.

  3. Move the Photos Place all the images, including the edited ones, into a new folder and see if the Photos app recognizes them properly.

  4. Reset the Photos App Go to Settings > Apps > Photos > Advanced options, then click “Reset” to see if it refreshes the app’s behavior.

  5. Try a Different Viewer You can test with another app like IrfanView or FastStone Image Viewer to see if the issue is specific to the Photos app.

I hope at least one of these suggestions helps

I don’t see this behavior either - post a screenshot of the explorer window (have it set to show details as long as show thumbnails view looks normal).

We are not able to reproduce this. Looking online this can occur on some machines and is not related to Topaz.

See here some steps to test:

Thanks. Renaming them worked!
