Resolved | Installation issues - Model Downloads

Unable to fully download topaz gigapixel ai generative models because of a critically unstable network speed
the installer fails to repair those files due to an unstable network issue.
downloading the model in the app is taking too long and constantly failing

if you’re able to share {rxl_unet0-v2-fp16 and
rxl_unet1-v2-fp16} models, I’ll be able to download them separately and import them into the model file afterwards

i was able to download those models later at night time, when the internet bandwidth goes higher

This issue may occur if the internet drops or security settings interfere with the AI model installation for Gigapixel.

Follow these steps to resolve:

  • In Gigapixel, go to Preferences > Settings > General
  • Toggle “Enable in-app model downloads” to the right to turn ON
  • Close and re-launch Gigapixel

Depending on the connection strength, you may need to repeat these steps.
Hardwiring your connection for consistency could help, too.

Check if a VPN, proxy, firewall, or anti-virus software is blocking the connection.
Temporarily disable these and add our sites, topazlabs.com , and topaz-labs.net, to your safe lists.

Just purchased Topaz Video for 299$ and now im stuck with a download that even aborts automatically due to slow download speed. My connection is fine and stable. Is there any other source to download from?! I cant let my computer run for 2 days just because you guys dont have a proper download server

I installed the latest Gigapixel AI (8.3.2). When I went to use it, it indicated that it had to download some models again. Partway through, I got an error saying that it couldn’t verify one or more of the models:

rxl_unet1-v2-fp16
ssdunet-v1-fp16-64x64-ov

Clicked retry. The model download remained stalled. Closed Gigapixel AI and restarted it. Again, as soon as I loaded an image it told me that some models needed to be downloaded again. Same result with error:

rxl_unet1-v2-fp16
ssdunet-v1-fp16-64x64-ov

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Gigapixel AI again. I made sure that no antivirus software was running and all firewalls were down. Same result. It seemed to install just fine. I opened the program, loaded an image and again was told some models needed to be downloaded again. Stopped in the same place with the same error.

Help.

Hi.

The latest version is Gigapixel 8.3.3 and might resolve this issue here’s the link for both Windows and Mac

Windows
https://downloads.topazlabs.com/deploy/TopazGigapixelAI/8.3.3/TopazGigapixelAI-8.3.3.msi

Mac
https://downloads.topazlabs.com/deploy/TopazGigapixelAI/8.3.3/TopazGigapixelAI-8.3.3.pkg

Hope this helps

goto log file path C:\ProgramData\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Gigapixel AI\Logs

Open the latest log with Notepad and copy the both names with the extension ( mostly end with .tz , tz2 etc.. )

Now create the link with https://models-bal.topazlabs.com/v1/

(eg https://models-bal.topazlabs.com/v1/rxl_unet1-v2-fp16-ox.tz)

Copy the downloaded file to the location below.

C:\ProgramData\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Gigapixel AI\models

Thank you. I’m trying this now. I should know in several hours, if it solved the issue. (It’s laughable that my internet provider calls my connection “high speed”.)

Rich Sorochak

Thank you. I’ll try this next, if necessary.

“downloading models”
“some model files need to be re-downloaded before images can be processed”
Progress bar half-way through. beeen stuck for days. Tried relaunching program, same problem, no joy

I was wondering was Slklakshitha reply able to help resolve your issue

Gigapixel shouldn’t have to keep repeatedly downloading models, this sounds like the connection was interrupted during the download process possibly due to a VPN or something similar

Try disabling your VPN and if that doesn’t help here’s the link to contact Topaz Support directly

Hi.

This has happened because, the connection was interrupted during the downloading and installation process possibly, due to a VPN, Firewall, Proxy, or antivirus.

Disable them one at a time one and try once again

Here’s the link if you wish to contact Topaz Support

Thank you for checking in. The missing models finished downloading overnight. I installed them a few minutes ago and Gigapixel is working perfectly now.

Rich Sorochak

It’s working perfectly now. Thank for the speedy assist.

When I want to upscale an image, or just view the preview in the little box, it writes, there is some problems with a few models, and it is needed to download it again. It starts the progress bar, but it stopst without downloading anything.

yeah mine started doing that too, I assume they tried to push a borked update

that is incorrect, having the same issue and I know none of those issues is the cause for a fact, going to post my own Topic, just wanted the OP not to be uninformed

edit: figured out how to solve the bug in my case at least, got the error, hit ignore and switched to 1x and did a preview and it worked, after that the other sizes worked as well

  1. Application starts up with white screen rather than gray.

2, Adds glasses sometimes where non are worn. (perhaps detecting eye-shadows or features or wringles below eyes.)

  1. Model download error displayed as follows:

Pop-up: “Model download error … share this dialog”.

ggn-v3-fp16-128x128-2x-ov
ggn-v3-fp16-128x128-4x-ov

System:

DxDiag.txt (116.6 KB)

Thanks,

G.Sharpe

I just installed the application and it says it cannot download the models. This is the specific test it is giving me ssdunet-v1-fp16-64x64-ox

When I start Gigapixel 8 it bring up a little window (attached pic) that says is it is Downloading models because “Some model files need to be re-downloaded before images can be processed.” It shows the progress bar at 50% but it seems to be stuck there. I have the latest version (8.3.3) which, BTW, downloaded OK. Is there some way I can manually update the modes and avoid this problem?
Thanks,
Charles

Here are the things it seems to want:

I also just re-downloaded the latest installer for 8.3.3 and re-installed, but it did not help.
