RESOLVED IN v1.1.0 | RECOVER FACES BUG | Custom Selection of faces resets

Howdy,

I see something of this sort was supposed to be fixed in version 1.01 but it’s not. If I put Recover Faces on an image, remove all but 1 from the selection and click done. If I navigate to the next image and then go back to the previous, Recover Faces is back to the total number of faces picked initial and not the only one I selected. I have a video prepped if you cannot recreate the issue.

Just to tag along..

Also, as stated by previous folks, the “flattening” of filters is quite tedious. Along with the fact that you can no longer arrange the filters in the recommended order without removing them all and reapplying them all.

One more issue that’s plagued in Photo and even Photo AI is that when it opens, it never opens on the first photo in the batch. It’d be nice to start with the first image in the batch and work thru them. It’s not even starting on the one I used to launch the software to do the batch.

Hello,

We are looking into an issue for this.

We will circle back here once a fix is released, the development team is able to recreate this and we will update here once a fix released.

in the studio version, the face detection always comes back on, even though I remove faces … wasting keystrokes and time … its awful!

also the sharpen sliders scale, is awful on the low end .. not consistent in size and its tough to get fine scale … it stops at about 34 .. or 1 and nothing in between, then on another rendering the slider scale at 40 is small! Inconsistent

@dan.guy I moved you post to the existing thread we are tracking for this issue.

Just want to add, in case it’s helpful: in addition to the face selection resetting when navigating between images, it resets if you export multiple images at once! Even if you don’t navigate to any other images before exporting.

Steps to recreate:

  1. Have 2 or more images open at one time
  2. Apply any filter to each open image (so they will export)
  3. Choose one image and apply Face Recovery, then unselect some faces
  4. Without clicking to a different image, click the Select All checkbox to select all images, then Export
  5. The image that was previewing in step 3 will have all faces recovered, even though it showed some were deselected when clicking Export.

Hello Dan! On our side, when you flagged us this issue on your support email to us, we troubleshooted with you. I see we also booked a screenshare with you, which you had to miss for personal reasons, which we understand, and then we booked another screenshare. We were able to identify the issue and mentioned it is an issue the development team is actively working on to fix and that we will contact you when the issue is fixed. Let us know what we could of done differently.

We have found the root of the issue and it is aimed to be fixed in the next release. We will circle back on our email thread when its released too! Have a great day!

So I downloaded 1.0.2 today in hopes that this issue was fixed. But nope, it’s still a problem. How is it taking this long to roll out a patch? This is such a significant issue that Photo Studio is basically unusable. You are definitely not making your case for subscription software at this point.

Patches do take time to develop, test, and release, and version 1.0.2 does not include a fix for this particular issue. When a fix is released for a specific issue, it will be noted in the changelog of the version and v1.0.2 does not include a fix for this issue.

In the meantime, you can continue using your owned Photo AI version, as it is not affected by this issue. We’ll be sure to update this thread as soon as the patch is released, and we’ll close it once the fix is live.
