[RESOLVED] - Capture One Plugin is missing

Hi
I have Topaz Photo AI 3.3.3 and Capture One 16.5.2.2632 (latest version) installed on a Win 11 machine, but the Photo AI within Capture one doesn’t work, that means the Option isn’t shown within the edit menu of Capture One.
I tried all the solutions suggested in the knowedge base article topaz-photo-ai-2-4-1-no-longer-shows-up-as-a-capture-one-plugin (except downgrading to V2.x), but issue is not solved.
The files from your plugin are available at C:\Users"username"\AppData\Local\CaptureOne\Plugins\com.topazlabs.TopazPhotoAI and the manifest and dll files look identical to the ones in the Photo AI program folder
How do I get it to work?
Regards
Michael

Hi Michael,
I’m using that same combination and it works fine on my system. (C1 Image->edit with (and just to verify - not the C1 edit menu)). Sometimes it takes a bit of time to populate the edit with dropdown, so hover over it for a bit.

  1. has this been working in the past and suddenly stopped or is this a new install of one or the other?
  2. in the past (earlier versions of both c1 and topaz), I’ve had missing edit with options that I had to go find using image->edit with->browse to go find the executable (I think you want Topaz Photo AI.exe as opposed to tpai.exe, but I could be wrong there). Do your denoising etc. The next time you restart C1 the option should be in Image->edit with.

Hi David

Thanks for your feedback
Yes, it has been working until some weeks ago, most probably it stopped working after an Topaz Update.
Correct, I’m looking for it in the C1 - Image - Edit with context menu (or usually on the right click on an thumbnail).

If I select Browse and then Topaz Photo AI.exe, I get an export menu where I can adapt the export settings and export a png file successfully, BUT neither works the round trip, nor do I have Topaz Photo AI available upon next C1 restart in the menu.
I just installed Topaz 3.4.0 (wasn’t available this afternoon), but unfortunately nothing changed

Best regards
Michael

Other things to check (in case you haven’t):
Some people report uninstall/reinstall of both helps. Others report it doesn’t.

make sure the tpai plugin is enabled in C1 preferences: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/10185470861085-Integration-with-Topaz-Photo-AI

reset file type associations in windows: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/15516858771741-Capture-One-not-opening-Topaz-DeNoise-AI (I think this helped me one time).

SOLVED!
Enabling the tpai plugin in C1 preferences solved the issue!
Thanks a lot for this tip - I wasn’t aware of that option… just wondering how/when this got disabled…
