In a similar way that the “interlaced progressive” setting exists, there are use cases where it would be beneficial to be able to override the incoming video specs, e.g. in cases where-
• source video has been (dumb) upscaled to a non native resolution.
• source video has been rendered at a not native frame rate.
• aspect ratio is incorrect (as mentioned in another idea)
Let’s say I have a video file that is 720p @60fps when I know the actual source the file was created from is 480i 29.97. Rather than re-transcoding it down to native spec for more accurate processing in TVAI, it would be nice if there were the option to tell TVAI how the source should be interpreted.
