Request for short Preview support for Starlight models

Topaz Video’s Starlight model family (Precise 2.5, HQ, Fast 2, Sharp, and Mini) currently does not support Preview or Frame Preview. To check the output, users have to export the entire clip.

There has already been a community reply saying, “Preview for the Starlight models is not an option at this time. To see the effects of the model, you will need to export the file.” This makes it difficult to quickly evaluate the result before committing to a full export.

Compared with other upscaler models, it would save a lot of workflow time if Starlight could render only a few frames as a short preview, for example 5 frames.

My environment:

  • Windows
  • NVIDIA GPU
  • Topaz Video 1.5.0
  • 32 GB VRAM

Please consider adding a short Preview/Frame Preview option for the Starlight model family, similar to the preview support available for other models.

You can export using the In/Out markers to select a small segment of the video and export that out with the model to see the enhancement; you do not need to send the entire video out.

Moved this to the Ideas section as well for users to vote on this feature, if it can be incorporated by the devs.
