Repeated crashes Windows/v1.5.0 (and prior) direct load and Affinity Plugin

Just upgraded to 1.5.0 on my windows machine, and like the prior two versions, Photo AI crashes early in the edit. This happens whether I load my files (.NEF ~45MB files from Nikon Z7II) or through current version of Affinity Photo as a plugin.

Photos load initially appears fine (and edits are shown in progress), but then app closes abruptly if I make any adjustments to settings, zoom, etc.

I’m running completely update rig, with decent power (AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core, 64GB RAM, Win 11 Pro, RTX A4000 GPU), so this all seems odd. I even tried setting the AI engine to Auto from my GPU (the A4000).

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Load raw photo, directly or via Affinity Photo.
  2. Make even the slightest change in settings.
  3. Photo AI closes.

Two most recent crash logs attached.

I believe that NVIDIA is working on a solution to issues with the RTX Ax000 series. It’s a known issue with Photo AI… although slower you have an option to use the CPU which should stop the crashing.

Thanks, Don. Will keep my drivers fresh and use DeNoise and Sharpen until then.

Just updated to driver version 536.96, but that still didn’t fix it.

Please install this version which has a potential fix for the crashing on your NVIDIA RTX Ax000 graphics card:
https://downloads.topazlabs.com/deploy/TopazPhotoAIAlpha/1.5.0.aie0/TopazPhotoAIAlpha-1.5.0.aie0.msi

Process some images and let me know what happens. If you see any errors or issues, open Topaz Photo AI, go to the menu bar on the top and click the Help > Open Log Folder menu option. Email me all the logs files that you can see in the window that opens.

Confirming that the newly-released versions fix this issue–working fast and flawless now!

Thanks for being responsive!
