Transparency scans can contain defects which are impossible to remove while scanning (also with IR defect removal).
AI could be useful in removing them. Samples included (1:1 crops from 2700 dpi scan of 35mm negative).
I would love this functionality. There doesn’t seem to be a good answer for removing defects from slides. IR scan doesn’t work on dyes.
Scratches can be removed somehow with software since the previous century. The same as for example noise.
The point is to have a specialized tool which removes all extra manual operations and gives better results than generic tools.
In case of “scratches” of these types - autoselection and algorithms specialized in removing exactly thin lines (and other development/scanning artifacts) should both be speedier to use and give better results.
