Can I just ask about the yearly renewal… what happens if I don’t renew when due in January 2025, but wanted to do so again in future, say 6 months after expiration? Do I have to purchase the base product again? Or would I be still able to renew in say July 2025, and get 12 months validity from there, or would it be 6 month validity to whenever the next renewal date would have been? (January 2026)
Asking because I’ve had zero value from the last 12 months of updates and it was a total waste of money. Virtually all “enhancements” have been useless, and the latest release takes the biscuit… trying to push cloud rendering on you, costing hundreds of dollars per video. It’s a total joke.
I want decent updates to models and new models, not useless models that have serious issues, and silly paid features nobody wants that are overpriced by a factor of 100. I’ve briefly tried the new HDR model and it’s totally useless for any multi-scene video (not that I have a use for a HDR model anyway. You can sometimes get one scene looking good and the rest just looks awful.
It seems these kind of complaints are becoming more and more common and Topaz just aren’t listening to their customer base. It’s really disappointing as this was an amazing product with still so much more potential 2 years ago… and it now seems to be going backwards and will almost certainly be overtaken in the next 12 months if things don’t change
I understand wanting to increase your profitability (I run a software company)… but surely you do that by giving your customers what they want? For example, I’d happily pay many hundreds of dollars more for a generative model that could generate lost details on skin or textures like brickwork or stone etc.
