Reloads model files every time I open a photo for editing

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Step 1 — activate Topaz to edit a file
  2. Step 2 — Reloads model files before I can edit
  3. Step 3 — Happens any time

Happens to me too. Very frustrating!

For me, it not only does this, but now is crashing every time I try to open Photo AI as a filter from PS.

It did open (after downloading more models) from LR, but then it crashes after the analyze image phase before I can do anything.

This error typically means something blocked/prevented all the AI models from downloading during installation.

Here are the steps to follow to resolve this issue:

  • Important: Make sure you turn off your firewall, antivirus, and VPN (you can turn them back on once the installation process is done)
  • You can download a new installer from your account’s download page | Topaz Labs | My Account | Download Page

Download and open this new version, you should be able to click on the blue ‘Activate’ button and log in with the email that is associated with your Topaz Labs account and password.

Once authenticated, please try the same model again and let me know if you get the error.

Hi, John. I got a new installer and reinstalled Topaz AI 3. Started PS '24, opened one photo at a time, and got the same message each time: Models need to be redownloaded.
No firewall, no antivirus (unless there’s something similar in Mac OS 14), no VPN.
I’ll try again tomorrow.
