Hello,
The Redefine tool is brillant, but I woud like to have a finer adjustment option for the Creativity slider. The outcome of level 4 is in many cases very good, but often overdraws a little. When I step back to level 3, the additional details become too few. So I would prefer to have a fine adjustment between level 3 and 4. maybe a 3.5 or even finer like 3.25, 3.5 and 3.75.
This would make a fantastic tool incredible fantastic.
Thanks.
Hi.
Percentages would have been a better option never the less a brilliant suggestion you’ve got my vote and don’t forget to vote yourself
I have suggested this in the last 3 or 4 betas.
I agree that percentages would be best - the “jumps” and “gaps” with only 6 Creativity settings is a major failing.
Sadly in spite of many requests and votes for things like:
- scalable dialog boxes
- Text Prompt box for Redefine - Realistic Subtle
- saving Model Settings with the file
- Mouse buttons for copy & paste & cut
- updated Cloud Credit costs
- etc etc
Topaz often do not seem to pay much attention to what users and beta testers ask for…
Occasionally they do as in the latest Photo AI 4.0 release “promise” that they are at last looking at allowing a choice of where to do upscaling - it just takes time…
From the Community stats not enough people read the ideas thread - I think it’s worth posting in the main Giga Release & Beta threads as well to draw attention to the Idea because more people look at them.
Hello!
Each step in the Creativity levels are in fact different models that are running.
1-100% would be a lot of models to create, tune, and download, making this an unrealistic option.
What if you could version the current image, creating multiple exports with various Creativity levels that you could layer and blend the best elements from?
I’ve allready done this, with level 3 and level 4 outputs, but apart from the timeconsuming doing, the result is not really satisfying, because the outcome (e.g. metallic reflections) are so different between 3 and 4 that the final image is somehow inconsistent.
I don’t need a hundred steps, just ONE between 3 and 4 would be a great advantage for me.
Excellent, thanks for sharing the insight!
I’d like that. Preferable an option to output various renditions as a layered tiff or psd, ready to mask. I post-process every image in Photoshop anyway.
Maybe, you could even go further and send an object id pass of sorts along to help with masking / blending. Here’s now such works in a 3D modelling app… It’s, of course, a different situation, but I hope you get my point.
Thanks for that explanation.
From my experience I absolutely agree with dieter-3672 that there is a big gap between Creativity 3 and 4.
I also think there is a big gap between Redefine Realistic Subtle (Creativity 2) and Artistic Low (Creativity 3). Subtle MIGHT benefit if it had an optional Text Prompt box.
Blending or compositing 2 renders isn’t an attractive option for me - too much time and effort swapping applications etc. I want a result in one program. I don’t want to go back to 10 or 20 layers in Photoshop - did that 30 years ago !
Other variables that impact Redefine renders are scale factor and image size and using Text Prompts. It’s interesting to compare a 4x upscale of an 800x600px image with a 2x Photoshop image size enlargement to 1600x1200px then upscaled 2x in Gigapixel. Sometimes there can be no differences - other times there will be. Going huge can be great but at the expense of long render times and huge files.
I’ve also tested a suggestion that using a Medium or Large Preview box selection can be different to using a Small Preview box. I’ve not been able to determine whether these differences are just random or whether there is a definite correlation.
There are much more significant differences between Local and Cloud renders but my understanding is that is due to quite different models in each option.
Text Prompting seems like gazing into a misty crystal ball with occasional clear sunny spells ! Direct commands don’t work and creating appropriate gentle nudges is challenging ! Hitting an occasional golden jackpot makes all the hard work that produced nothing worthwhile.
It is fun searching for the end of the rainbow !
