Redefine doesn't work on Mac

On Mac redefine mode is out of focus and blurry, both for the previews and for the final export. All other models work, but Redefine doesn’t work at all on any of my Apple Silicon Macs. I have M3 Max with 128 gb of RAM, and a 40 core GPU so it’s not a performance issue…

HI jackson.wells-5384!

Our team is aware of this issue. We are currently investigating and working to collect more information from users experiencing this problem. Could you tell me which macOS you are using when the image came out blurry?

We suspect there may be a correlation to that detail among all the computer details you provided.

Thanks for reporting!

I’m currently on macOS 15.3.1, however I have experienced this issue on macOS 14.5, 15, 15.1, 15.2, and 15.3. I’ve experimented with downgrading operating systems and tried each one, but all I’ve tried have the same result.

Same here. Redefine mode is still in Beta, I know. But in the last versions of Gigapixel it stopped working on all of my fast Apple-Silicon-Macs and only produces blurry images or never finishes processing at all. Only cloud-processing works. If intentional or not, this is not acceptable to me. I won’t renew my Topaz-maintenance it this issue will not be fixed. It is the only reason I had bought Gigapixel additionally to Topaz Photo.

I received a reply that it is an issue they are aware of it. They said it happens with creativity set to 1 or 2, but it should work with lv 3 or higher. (That didn’t work for me). They said the current workaround is to downgrade to 8.0.2. (This worked, but ugh). My guess is it has something to do with the new Mac rendering system being “twice as fast” in 8.1 and later.
