Reddish eye issue after applying second enhancement

Hello,

I am using Topaz Video AI 6 since my system does not support the Starlight Mini tool that comes with versions from 7 onwards (not enough RAM).

I mainly use the software to upscale/enhance mid-quality videos from about 20 years ago with 720x540 resolution and 4:3 ratio. I have found the optimal enhancement settings to be 2x upscale applying Proteus combined with Dione Robust. In the “Input” settings box I set under “Input color override” both “Color space” and “Color primary” to BT470BG, leaving “Color TRC” auto-detected and “Color range” to full - this solves the yellowish tone issue that occurs when upscaling this type of 4:3 videos and I find the output to match the original colours as close as possible.

The result with the combined Proteus-Dione Robust enhancement is remarkable but the eyes become coloured with a reddish tone which is more noticeable in full shots and mostly disappears in close-up shots. This only happens when applying the second enhancement.

Has anyone experienced this issue before and might know how it could be solved?

Thanks in advance for any help

We have not seen this result from Video AI version 6, are you able to share screenshots here or send them to the support team directly to review? help@topazlabs.com

Thank you for the reply, unfortunately I cannot provide screenshots here since the videos are NSFW content - I should have mentioned that already, sorry

Fair enough. does swapping the Color TRC or Color Range options help? Or do you still see the color shift?

I set “Color range” to limited but the only difference consisted in an overall darker tone so I set it back to full which looks closer to the source. I tried selecting all the options one by one under “Color TRC” but the issue is still there. I also noticed that in full shots the reddish colouration comes and goes depending on head movements. This is really weird considering that when applying a single enhancement the eyes look alright. I can send you screenshots privately if that is fine with you
